- You: You love making a vision and “ideas'' come to life through video. You have a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to do great work. You’re highly organized, operate independently, take responsibility for your work, and most importantly, you care about the details (quality). You get excited about deadlines, and you are comfortable working with an extended (super talented) remote team via live chat. You thrive in a position when you’re involved in multiple projects all at different stages, while balancing the needs of each client’s vision. You love getting new tasks, but aren’t afraid to ask questions if needed. You’re not a “job hopper”, but seek a long-term relationship and a bigger, positive Company Vision you can contribute to.
- You and The Work: You’ll work remote / from home, 9-5pm EST business hours. Day to day, you’ll receive tasks from Project Managers who handle most of client communications. You’ll take time to read each video editing / production brief with empathy and to understand what clients want, and then see that task through, production, editing, and delivery. You’ll communicate through our internal live chat daily (sometimes you may be asked to hop on calls). Responsiveness is key.
- Your Experience / Knowledge: 1+ years experience and it’s definitely a Plus if you have any third party certifications related to video or marketing. Ideally, you have a compelling portfolio of work to share so we can understand what you can do, and how long each type of task takes.

Requirements
- Must have a reliable, stable internet connection
- Must be reliable, diligent and enjoy having a position where staying organized and communicating clearly is key
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages
- Must be technically savvy enough to be comfortable learning and using new software (we use our own web application for project management)
- Customer-focused attitude but also able to follow specific directions every week via our checklists, templates, and other instructional media used to operate the business
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude with the ability to meet deadlines
- Creative, solution-oriented mindset; able to consider tactical details and think on a strategic level
- Must be available to work during company business hours i.e. between 9am and 5pm EST (New York Time)
- Must complete a skill test and 2-week training as documented on our wiki, as given by our assistant
Responsibilities
- Manipulate film and video footage using modern editing techniques.
- Trim footage and putting together the rough project.
- Insert dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and/or special effects (if needed).
- Create the final cut for submission to the client.
- Brainstorm and suggest idea based on best practices.
- Create videos in various formats.
- Provide simple video editing support.
- Attend daily team sync-ups at 1030am EST, Monday - Friday
