ABOUT THE POSITION AND WHO WILL BEST FILL IT  

You should have experience writing detailed, educational content for other blogs with the goal of driving inbound traffic from Social Media, Google, and other search engines.  

You should have some background in digital marketing.  

You should be diligent, consistent and truly care about writing content that goes above. Our goal is to help people grow their businesses (we’ll supply much of the topic ideas to start off with) and beyond to help the reader get a specific result.  

We are also looking for someone who enjoys collaborating to make his / her writing the best it can possibly be. You WILL become a better writer by working with us! (So you should be very open to feedback).  

A plus (but not a requirement) if you are adaptable and open to writing on other subjects or have experience writing for other types of clients or markets.  

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Write and revise in-depth (2,000 - 6,000 words) high-quality blog articles. 
  • Peer editing, editing guest post articles and formatting video transcriptions for video-tip-based articles.
  • Filtering / feedback on guest writer applicants before their articles move to be edited.
  • Collaborating with content team members on revisions via Trello and Skype. 
  • Learning and maintaining our high standards for quality blog article content. 
  • Longer term, after you learn the workflow, you’ll help maintain the documentation for your team position.  
  • You are also responsible for filling out a simple checklist, as well as attending team meetings, once per week on Tuesdays at 11:00 am EST (team call) and 11:40 am EST (content call).  


REQUIREMENTS  

  • Must be a native US speaker / writer. 
  • Must complete preliminary 1-week training which includes a short test.
  • Must be technically savvy enough to be comfortable learning and using new software (we use Trello for project management). 
  • Must be available for weekly team calls and contribute with ideas for how to improve your work process. 
  • NOT a requirement but a plus: knowledge of Wordpress, SEO, Google Analytics, and other marketing software like LeadPages. 
  • A Customer / Reader-focused attitude but also able to follow specific directions every week via our checklists, templates, and other instructional media used to operate the business. 
  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude with good organizational skills. 
  • Creative, solution-oriented mindset.
